  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy: A form of therapy that helps clients heal from distressing life events, including trauma. EMDR does not require the client to share in depth verbal details of events but rather focuses on allowing the brain to heal itself.

EMDR can be effective in helping with some of the concerns or challenges below:

    • Anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias

    • Chronic Illness and medical issues

    • Depression and bipolar disorders

    • Dissociative disorders

    • Eating disorders

    • Grief and loss

    • Pain

    • Performance anxiety

    • Personality disorders

    • PTSD and other trauma and stress related issues

    • Sexual assault

    • Sleep disturbance

    • Substance abuse and addiction

    • Violence and abuse

If you have tried traditional talk therapy in the past but did not find it as effective as you had hoped then EMDR could be a good fit for you.

  • Trauma - Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT): An evidence based treatment that helps process trauma. Research shows that TF-CBT is especially effective in working with children/adolescents but can also be beneficial for adults. You can expect the following from you or your child’s TF-CBT treatment:

    • Normalization and education regarding you and/or your child’s experiences

    • Learn relaxation and healthy coping skills

    • Enhance awareness and ability to communicate emotions

    • Learn cognitive coping skills

    • Process trauma and any related emotions and thoughts

    • Strengthen your relationship with your child (if your child is the primary client)

    • Learn safety skills for the future and long-term management of any PTSD symptoms
